The 2s kept up their winning streak by managing to see off West End (Esher) in a good win away amongst the Surrey Hills.
Bowling first, Yasir Ahmad (3 for 60) again managed to pick-up wickets when asked. He was ably supported by Ashley Naumann (2 for 49) who bowled a mammoth spell and Umer Munir (2 for 21) who bowled with aggression in the later part of the innings. An honourable mention also goes out to the keeping of Sam Vahdati who took two good catches and moved his feet to the ball well.
West End managed to secure a good score of 172 in their innings and if RCC were to win the game they would require at least one substantial partnership to chase down the target.
That partnership came from the mighty willow of Stephen Andrew Kent (SAK) and Peter Dandy. Both worked the ball well into the gaps and ran quick singles very effectively. Requiring 4 runs an over, the pair played at frustrating the West End fielders and collecting boundaries periodically. SAK's maiden 50 for RCC again looked on the cards, until sadly, he was trapped by a quicker ball. Dandy carried his bat to the end and managed to see RCC home for their 5th successive win.
Next week is a big game against Merton, one of the top sides in the competition.
See you all at training Wednesday evening 6-8pm on the RCC square....
Be there or be outscored by SAK!
Man of the match: Pete Dandy.
