The 2019 Cricket Season is just around the corner, so we would like to take the opportunity to set out our plans for this year. These will be broadly in line with previous years.

Promoting the RCC Juniors
We anticipate having capacity for new players at all age groups, so please do feel free to invite friends, schoolmates, siblings & please ask your school to circulate details too (flyers & posters are available – please just ask a team manager for a supply).

RCC Parents
Although we do have professional coaching, the club itself is run by volunteers. These parents give of their time so that your children are able to get the most out of and enjoy their cricket. We ask that you help out as much as you can and expect that each child has a designated responsible parent at training and matches to provide support both for the children and the team managers and coach. Further, if you can, please get involved in helping to run the juniors section – there are several roles outlined towards the end of this document ready for additional volunteers.

Juniors’ subscriptions for 2019 have remained at £120.
The £120 fee will cover your child’s attendance for all available sessions at an equivalent of a little over £5 per session
● Up to 12 outdoor training sessions
● Up to 10 Matches (subject to the size of squad and player availability)
● The club is considering running a summer camps as an additional cost and training

Payments for subscriptions are preferred by bank transfer - see details below. Please ensure you include your child’s name as a reference on any payment.
Account Name = Roehampton Cricket Club
Sort Code = 20-90-69
Account Number = 30416460

Please note that any children who have not had their subscriptions paid, will be ineligible for their second training session and match selection.

Website/Email - We are continuing to use Pitchero as our web portal in 2019. Please ensure that your registered email address is correct, as this will remain the principal method for notification of fixtures and team selections (existing members should have already had an email or two from RCC in the past, if not then please log onto the website & check your email is listed and validated). Pitchero may have made a few changes to the site layout over the winter, so it’s worth familiarising yourself with the site once more.

Guidance on registering and using the website can be found here.

Training During League Season
Training sessions during the league season will start Monday 22 April 2019 and be on a weekly basis during the season with the final one taking place on Monday, 8th July.

Robbie’s team will continue taking ownership of all cricketing aspects of pre-season and training. Match days will continue to be the responsibility of individual team managers and parents.
Before making a move up to London, Robbie began his cricket playing and coaching for the Dorset County Cricket Board. He represented the minor county side up to Dorset B, and has been a Head Coach for three Districts sides. Now working and living in London he supports the junior cricket development for Roehampton CC. Robbie is an ECB Level 2 coach with diploma.

Matches will run from early May to early August (depending on the age group). Full, up-to- date details will be published on our website, as soon as they are confirmed by the league organisation.

Match Selection Policy
Please see the following document for details on our Match Selection Policy.

Juniors Chairman - position vacant, please let us know if you are available/interested
The job of bringing all the cricket administration tasks together (making sure league entries are done, ensuring second home grounds bookings for when home fixtures clash, organising the professional coaching, etc.) from an overall juniors point of view is currently done on an ad-hoc basis by any available Team Manager and the RCC Chairman. It would be ideal if someone could come forward and volunteer to take on this responsibility. If you are interested, please contact Marc Moderegger on

Team Managers
Each team will have its activities coordinated by a team manager - this person should be your initial point of contact for queries regarding your age group. They can be emailed via the club website.
● U15/U16 - Nik Ilukkumbure/Bharath Manium/Gayle Gerlach
● U14 - Marc Moderegger (please let us know if you are available/interested by contacting Marc at
● U12/U13 - Michael Edwards/Oliver Weeks
● U11 - Kirsty Wilkinson
● U10 - Marc Moderegger

Scorers Needed
With the increase in quantity of matches, we have a need to expand our pool of scorers. Ideally, we would have several at each age group, so if you are interested please get in touch with your team manager. If you regularly come to and watch the matches, scoring is something that can be done whilst watching the cricket. Full training and template sheets/scorebooks will be provided (if you're not interested might your partner be?)

Coaching Assistants
We would like to have a larger pool of approved coaches’ assistants, to help with the running of sessions. The club will pay for you to be appropriately trained and prepared for this role. If you are interested in volunteering to help in this way, please contact Marc at

Thanks for your attention and let's hope we have a great season!
