Having won the toss the Cavaliers decided to bat on what looked like a good surface. The Jesters started their bowling with a medium paceman at one end and a spinner at the other. The quality of their bowling soon became apparent and the Cavaliers wickets fell consistently. With the exception of Keld (30) and later on Jono (17) not much resistance was shown by the Cavaliers and the final total landed up on 106. This was clearly not enough against a side who could also bat. It must also be said that unusually for a Sunday team the Jesters brought their own umpire, and he obliged the Jesters in making two very dubious decisions in their favour.
In reply the Jesters didn't have much trouble reaching the modest total of 107. They reached the target with the loss of only 2 wickets, both going to Greg Hunter, who finished with 3.2 overs,1 maiden, 18 runs for 2 wickets.
