Cavaliers for once won the toss and decided to bat on what looked like a very good pitch. After the loss of a couple of early wickets Tom Hilson applied himself superbly and anchored the entire innings finally being stumped on 84. The Cavaliers landed up with a score of 159.
This total may have seemed a little light but a good start by Pukar Patel and Jono Robinson restricted the run rate. Soon Weekenders had to decide if they wanted to go for the total instead of the draw. Cavaliers had to give them the opportunity to score and therefore decided to bowl spin at both ends. The breakthrough came with Tom Whitrow in his new role as a later day spinner. At the other end Greg Hunter bowled with great skill and finished with figures of 8 overs 5 wickets for 42 runs. With only a couple of overs remaining the Cavaliers got their last wicket, with Badgers all out for 125.
