Tribesmen get the better of the Cavaliers.

Having had a well spirited game against the Nomadic Norsemen, the Cavaliers were faced with the prospect of a game against a new team with an equally exotic name.I didn't manage to obtain the provenance of Bedouin, but had quietly hoped that their arrival would be by a slow Camel train down Wildcroft Rd,with an assortment of goats and some retired shepherds.Alas this was not to be and instead they turned up with some handy cricketers.

In fact they were confident enough that when they won the toss they put the Cavaliers into bat.A great partnership between Sacha Hatteea(68) and Saqib Abbasi(43)took the Cavaliers score to 103 for 3.Further contributions from David Boreham(27)and laterly Mark Boag(30)made for a very respectable total of 229 All Out in 40.5 Overs.Of the Bedouin's bowler's,they had an excellent spin bowler,D Benton who returned figures of 12-3-45-4.

After tea,the Bedouin set about the Cavaliers attack, and got to 97 before their first wicket.Pukar Patel was very economic,as is always the case, and Saqib Abbassi took 4 for 82.At 156-4,the Cavaliers were in with a chance but D Benton (of bowling fame)hit a very good 48 and secured victory for the Bebouin.

A rather nice touch at the end of the match was for each side to have their own man of the match. For the Cavaliers it was Saqib Abbassi and for the Bebouin, hardly suprisingly was D Benton.

For our yet to be filled fixtures I think only teams with unusual sounding names should be considered. Can we set up a game against the Waschagga Occaisonals.
