Splendid weather blazing across the pitch area made for a great return fixture of one of the most favoured Cavaliers oppositions.
Heartaches this was year comprised of what they call their youth squad.Captained by Don Rice they won the toss and elected to field. An odd decision with the temperature so high, but it proved a good one.
Cavaliers faced a good opening bowling attack,in no small part down to the much improved Jordan Freida. Why didn't he bowl like that when he played for Roehampton?
Cavaliers really struggled and the only noticeable resistance came from David Boreham (25).That was until Simon Stokes and Tom Whitrow came together and took the score from 53 for 6 to 125.Cavaliers finished on 139 for 8 declared.
Heartaches made light of the Cavaliers bowling attack and scored the runs in 23 overs for the loss of 3 wickets. The only good note from the Cavaliers bowling was a return to form of David Foster with 4-2-13-0.
Despite losing, the match was played in a very friendly spirit and we hope Heartaches come back next year and we give them more of a game!
