Cavaliers v Roehampton Bats

Once again the weather held off for a rain free match.
Having lost the toss the Cavaliers were put in the field on what our resident pitch expert Joe Parnell described as a great batting pitch.He was right,and although Gurav Patel was unlucky not to pick up some early wickets,the Bats amassed a considerable score of 238 in 55 overs.Their captain Mark Evans batted very well for 116 until superbly caught by Stephen Kent.This brought an end to their innings which had realistically gone on too long.
After tea the Cavaliers were set the formidable task of 238 in not that many overs.The openers Clive Henderson and Joe Parnell began with a partnership of 98,which did at least ensure a draw, but was not quick enough to make going for the target a proposition.After Clive Henderson went for 36 Joe Parnell continued and made 51.At the close,Toby Lelean had made 25 and Gurav Patel 21.
