Roehampton 118 for 8 v Long Ditton 113 for 8

Coach's report (Nik Ilukkumbure)
What was good: Some excellent bowling spells and bowler choice. Many batsmen got off the mark and seized opportunities for singles. Solid wicket keeping.
Room for improvement: In the field clarity over positions to stop either singles or boundaries, keeping energy up and reliable stops with long barrier. With the bat awareness of fielder positions to avoid catches and clear calling of 'Waiting' as well as Yes/No.
Highlights: Double wicket overs from Mihir and Elliot and 3 very good LBW shouts (one given) in an over from Charlie. Steady innings by Hugh, William LT and Kyan.

Bowling Highlights:
Mihir 6 runs for 3 wickets off 4 overs
Elliot 4-2 2

Match report (Bharath Manium)
It was the warmest day of the year so far, and both teams made the most of it and treated the spectators to an excellent game of cricket. In the end the team that held its nerve ended up on the winning side.

Having lost the toss we were sent in to bat. The RCC top order did not fire as expected, as we lost some crucial wickets just as a partnership was being built. Hugh top scored with 23 and was involved in a few top-order partnerships with Elliot (7) and Tom (7).

Losing a few wickets in the middle order caused consternation among RCC supporters, but the tide was about to turn. A brisk late inning stand between Kyan (16) and William (17) gave us the impetus we needed and we ended our quota of 20 overs at 118-8

Long Ditton, also began badly and lost a couple of early wickets in the second over. But they consolidated their inning with one crucial partnership and moved from 5 for 2 to 53 for 2 at the end of the 10th over. The match was poised for an exciting finish as Long Ditton needed 14 runs in the last 2 overs. In the 19th over they managed 5 runs but lost 2 crucial wickets. 9 runs in the last over however proved too much for them and RCC closed in with a 5 run win.

RCC bowling and fielding was exceptional taking wickets at key intervals, and not allowing the opposition to consolidate. Key stats were Mihir (3 for 6), Elliot (2 for 4), Charlie (1 for 13) and Eddie (1 for 21). In addition, the team also engineered 4 run outs.

Well done boys!
