The first team continue their perfect start

First away game for us and the team WhatsApp group was buzzing with sorting out transport. Fulham on fire, Kish with his leaky car, Barry and his food poisoning...what could go wrong. We all got there just on time for the start, so much for our warm up plans before the game.

FaceTiming Max and calling JP to ask what to do went down the drain as I lost the toss and Warlingham chose to bat. Not sure what to make of it as I went back in the dressing room to tape up my fingers for keeping.

This seems like a copy and paste but Mo and Umer did what they do best and finished with a couple of wickets each in their spells.

Ron wasn’t that lucky as he left his IPL boots at home, however, for the first time this season, Max turned his arm with his “gentle pace” bowling....jokes...he was bowling with fire and ended up with 3 wickets to his name.

Jonno took over the other end and tied their batsman in knots and finished with 2 wickets too in his 3 overs for just 2 runs. We bowled the opposition out for what we thought a well fought 95 in about 30 odd overs. We once again caught and fielded well with Daviiiiiid getting a direct hit run out and a catch in the slips to his name. Kish and Phil did the contribution in talking Urdu which helped get us a couple of wickets.

Teas went down well with Umer’s famous thermos of a couple of tea bags dipped in hot milk.

We started our innings very carefully as the message was let’s bat properly and make sure we see the game home convincingly and Harry and Kish did just that. Kish fell on 12 to their second change bowler which brought JP to the crease. Harry then walked to their slow spinner and didn’t bother trying to get back into his crease and got stumped.

Mo joined JP in the middle and knocked off the runs in no time. Another great win and 20 points for the mighty deers.

Most of us went back to the Heath to find that the 2’s were on the verge of 20 points too. They saw the game home easily too and we all decided to have a game of footy which yours truly scored the winning goal....yes it was on target Haz so I’m going to claim it.

Man of the Match: Umer with his tidy spell 9 overs, 18 runs, 2 wickets
