Two-Lane Practice Nets Facility moving forward - seeking funding

It was great to see the support for our planning application to re-instate nets on the north-west corner of the ground on Putney Heath – there were just under 100 comments of support! With no complaints registered Wandsworth Council was able to grant our application, so now we’re full steam ahead on getting them installed.

We’ve been liaising with the Surrey Cricket Foundation and the ECB and they are putting us forward for funding through the London Cricket Trust’s program to enhance cricket facilities within London. In order to qualify for that fund, the club and its supporters are required to come up with what’s known as partner funding of £20,000.

We are attempting to raise that through a Crowdfunder campaign - https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/roehampton-cc-covid-19-recovery. The club has pledged £5,000 and we’ve managed to persuade Sport England to pledge £8,000 as long as we get at least 100 people to pledge the remaining £7,000 needed from all our supporters, members and parents in order to reach our target of £20,000. On the campaign page you will find rewards for donating – we will hopefully be adding more rewards as the campaign goes on.

If we raise more that £20,000 the additional funds will go to other capital projects such as a new sightscreen system, more storage on the ground and a potential partnership with Roehampton University to create a second ground the club can use on their grounds.

There are plenty of rewards to choose from for pledging, so please help up get over the line and secure the funds so that we can continue to improve cricketing facilities available to the local community.
