Tense tie at Wimbledon in mid season thriller, by Ravi Prajapati

Match Report: Roehampton CC 3rd XI vs. Wimbledon CC Mens 5th XI
A thrilling encounter unfolded at Roehampton CC as the 3rd XI took on the 5th XI of Wimbledon CC in a 40 overs cricket match. The game showcased exceptional performances from both teams, resulting in a hard-fought and rarest of draws.

Roehampton CC won the toss and elected to bat first, setting the stage for an intriguing battle between bat and ball. Their opening batsmen, Madhav and Tanzirul, stepped onto the crease with a determined mindset. However, the innings went a little slow whereby Wimbledon bowlers only struck at the 12th over with RCC having 19 runs on board at this stage.
Roehampton's batting lineup faced a stern challenge from Wimbledon's bowlers, and at 25-3, Roehampton needed stability, and it was Madhav’s 28 accompanied by Fahad Hasan's quickfire 25-run cameo provided some much-needed impetus.

The middle-order struggle continued, as wickets fell at regular intervals. Ravi and Pulak showcased their mettle, contributing a number of boundaries and fast running between wickets to lift the team's total and picking up the run rate. Innings was concluded by Umer who REGISTERS a massive six in the penultimate over, and made rapid 23 in 17 balls giving RCC a decent total to chase. Pulak stayed unbroken at the end of the innings.
Chasing 152 for victory, Wimbledon CC's openers tried to hold their ground but the two RCC bowlers Mo and Umer didn’t let them settle. Wickets just tumbled, but somehow Wimbeldon kept their hopes alive. Sarfraz, our first change bowler, kept the bowling even tighter, bolder, faster, deadlier, and unprecedented - knocking down middle stumps of two well set batsmen.
The lower order from Wimbledon fought tough and took the game away from RCC with some good partnerships - The game had TIED.

Finally, MAGIC happens for RCC. Wimbeldon were 8 wickets down - but as Mohsin had promised he would not let RCC loose - He dug in two of his fastest wicket line deliveries one after the other to get both the final wickets of the opponent with no further scoring, fingers moving, appeals or catches. He did it on his own! WHAT A BEAUTY!!
