Two titles on the trot for the 1st XI...

Saturday 4th September 2021 saw RCC 1st XI handsomely win their last game of the season to secure the league title.
That’s the second time in two league seasons now, as the club continues its march (back) up through the Fullers league.
We look forward to plying our trade in Div 1 next year; a place those with slightly longer RCC memories reluctantly left behind not so long ago.

The season finale in itself was a good example of our performances throughout the season - a great team effort, with significant contributions from younger, older, new and longer standing club members. Needing 4 points from the game to secure the title, RCC won the toss and batted first - posting well over 200 with some good application, for the bowling unit to then make life too difficult for the opponents in reply.

The vibe at the club over the last few years is the reason we have faired well on the pitch. It’s led to great recruitment, excellent young players coming through and even some reinvigoration amongst the older contingent.
The addition of ex England international Saj Mahmood this year being the icing on the cake!

This is no small part down to the excellent stewardship of Max Huntley on the field. A good core of players wanting to play with and for each other each week in the 1st XI puts the whole club in a strong position to thrive moving forward.
It’ll feel like a long and frustrating off season, but bring on Div 1 in 2022!
